Our 3 beaches 300 m from the campsite in Saint-Jean-de-Luz
Our serviced campsite, located in the Acotz district to the north of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, offers privileged access to three magnificent authentic beaches, ideal for a varied experience by the ocean:
- Cenitz/Senix (300 m): Sand and pebble beach, perfect for dynamic swimming or surfing. A peaceful spot to enjoy the sunsets, with foodtrucks offering meals and drinks.
- Mayarco (500 m): unspoilt sandy beach, ideal for families or beginner surfers. Along the beach, friendly restaurants and a miniature golf course with breathtaking ocean views.
- Lafitenia (800 m): A mythical spot reserved for experienced surfers, offering a wild, unspoilt setting with no construction.
These three beaches, less crowded and quieter than those in other parts of the Basque coast, offer a haven of peace away from the hustle and bustle of tourism, allowing you to take full advantage of the region’s natural beauty and authenticity. At our campsite, you’ll be spoilt for choice between our swimming pool and the most beautiful beaches on the Basque coast!
By the sea, the best spot for sunsets
Sunset lovers, get ready for a magical moment! From this ideally located campsite, you can set foot on the almost deserted beach of Cenitz, where surfers glide under the last golden rays of the sun.
If you prefer a more lively atmosphere, make yourself comfortable at the Mayarco beach bars, cocktail in hand, and let yourself be enchanted by the colorful spectacle of the sky transforming into a tableau vivant. A perfect setting for moments of pure wonder.
Discovering marine life
Our campsite is also the starting point for discovering nature. At low tide, the local beaches are transformed into a veritable natural spectacle. The water recedes to reveal rocks and sea formations, and the landscape becomes even more spectacular, wild and mysterious. It’s the perfect time to discover the aquatic fauna. Children in particular will be amazed to see crabs, sea urchins and shrimps moving before their very eyes.
However, it’s essential to remember that the ecosystem is fragile. So it’s best to observe these creatures without touching them, so as not to disturb their natural habitat. If you feel the irresistible urge to go fishing on foot, be sure to find out about local regulations to preserve the balance of this unique environment.
A little further afield, from the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz or Hendaye, you can also embark on a sea outing, whether for fishing or cetacean-watching, a fascinating activity that will allow you to further explore the region’s marine wealth.
Water sports in the spotlight
The Basque Coast offers a multitude of water sports activities for everyone, from thrill-seekers to those who prefer a more leisurely pace. For a tranquil experience, there’s nothing like a trip in a stand-up paddle, pirogue or sea kayak in the magnificent bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. If you’re looking for more maritime thrills, a boat or sailboat trip from Socoa or Hendaye will allow you to explore the Basque coast from a different angle, with perhaps even the opportunity to observe the local wildlife.

Learn to surf from our campsite
The Basque coast, the cradle of surfing in Europe, has been attracting surfing enthusiasts since the 60s. With legendary spots stretching from Anglet to Hendaye, there’s something for every level of surfer. Renting a mobile home in Saint-Jean-de-Luz at our campsite will give you direct access to several exceptional surf spots just a few steps away!
Spotlights to discover:
- Cenitz: This spot offers two distinct waves. The left is ideal for beginners, while the right is faster and more suitable for advanced surfers.
- Mayarco: Perfect for beginners who want to experience their first gliding sensations in complete safety.
- Lafitenia: A mythical spot with a long straight line, reserved for experienced surfers.
For beginners, there are several options in Bidart and Hendaye where you can try your hand at surfing in complete tranquillity, with family or friends.
For more experienced surfers, or those who simply want to enjoy the show, don’t miss the magnificent Parlementia wave in Guéthary, just 2km from the campsite.
